Skin Care Regiment

Since I switched to an all natural skin care regiment on my face, my skin has been sooo healthy!
Here's what I use now (yes, I did try quite a few products before deeming these faves):

I like to use two different facial washes, one in the am and another in the pm.
*Love derma e for am washes. I have tried both their "very clear, problem skin cleanser" and the "very clear cleansing scrub," both amazing. Refreshing tea tree in both. The cream cleanser is gentle and mild and the scrub gives vitality. I like to switch them up in the am. I only breakout with the smallest blemish about once a month, and then I zap it with a little water + tea tree oil dipped q-tip at night, and it's gone in a few days.

*In the evening, I use GloMinerals "gloPurifying gel cleanser" it's great for removing all my makeup (even mascara!) and leaves a completely clean feeling without drying my skin out. Been using this for almost 3 years now. It's a bit stronger than my am wash- I decided wanted to use it only at night for it's great makeup removing power.

Both moisturizers (day and night) that I ended up with are earth science based out of my lovely college town of Santa Barbara, CA.
*I use their "almond-aloe spf-15 moisturizer," absolutely amazing. It's light and airy, doesn't dry greasy at all, and keeps my skin baby-soft all day long- and protected! Retails around $14, available at Whole Foods.
*At night I use their "apricot night creme" which is thick and a bit heavy at first, but great for bringing back the glow to my, ah-hem, aging skin. Deeply repairs at night and my skin looks fab in the am. Something about the packaging makes me feel like it's a luxurious splurge, too. Retails about $15, available at Whole Foods.

Face masks to come!

*Just fyi, I have combination skin; dry in some spots, slightly oily in a few places now and then, breaks out occasionally here and there, and noticing the aging process take place- so I think my recommendations work for a variety of skin-types generally around the 20-40 age range.

Seventh Generation gets a gold star!

Hello all! It has been a while since my last post, wow how time flies! I have been reviewing many natural products and am going to start in with a few that I have been quite impressed with.

I have tried a couple of products from Seventh Generation, and so far I have not been disappointed in the least! One is their Natural Fabric Softener- it is a liquid softener added to the final rinse cycle of your wash. This was actually a purchase mistakenly made by my boyfriend, in his attempt to bring me home a natural laundry detergent...needless to say, in the end I was pleasantly surprised with its results! (Although I must admit this was used accidentally as detergent by my wonderful boyfriend in his attempt to do my laundry, bless his heart! It actually didn't turn out bad!) Moving on to the product itself- it is a canola-based softener which is:
* Non-toxic & biodegradable
* Hypoallergenic
* Free of phosphates & optical brighteners
* No animal tallow derivatives
* Safe for septic & greywater systems
* Not tested on animals
* Kosher-certified

...and I can say in all honesty, it works miracles! I never imagined it to work as well as it did, goodbye dryer sheets! This has now been added to my laundry routine, and will be a regular around here.

The second product is Seventh Generation's Emerald Cypress and Fir, Tub and Tile Cleaner. It has a great scent and works like a charm! Again, this product's active ingredients include plant derived cleaning agents, instead of petroleum based cleaners and harsh chemicals. It is also:
* Non-toxic & biodegradable
* Does not create harsh fumes
* No glycol ethers
* Not tested on animals
* Kosher-certified

When shopping for a tub and tile cleaner- it was apparent that this product had more natural ingredients than any other so called "natural" cleaner in its category, which is why I went for this one over the rest.

You can also find various coupons for these products on their website.

I definitely recommend these products to keep your home healthy, clean, and chemical free! I will soon be exploring recipes for making my own simple and effective household cleaners, which of course, I will share with you also!
